"Sport"-tacular Return

In 2010, the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is making a triumphant comeback, and this time it's packed with upgrades that will make any 'Vette fan salivate.

Available either as a coupe with a removable roof or as a traditional convertible, its looks and wider track ooze aggression. It sports a specific unique front fender design with integrated Grand Sport badges while simultaneously borrowing the front splitter, tall rear spoiler, and behind-the-doors functional brake ducts from the Z06, complete with extra cooling. It also appropriates the Z06's brakes which include 6-piston 14-inch front rotors and 4-piston 13.4-inch rear rotors, both with silver-painted calipers. Connected to the brakes are Grand Sport-specific 18-inch front wheels with large 275/35ZR18 Goodyear F1 supercar tires and 19-inch rear wheels with 325/30ZR19 Goodyear F1 supercar tires, done in either the standard painted finish (in either silver or competition gray) or the optional chrome finish.

With its aggressive appearance also comes aggressive performance. The shocks, stabilizer bars, and springs have all been upgraded to be even stronger. Not only can it go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.95 seconds with 1.0 g lateral acceleration, but it's also capable of getting an EPA-estimated 26 MPG highway, making it both powerful and fuel efficient. It's offered in either a 6-speed automatic form with paddle shifters and specific rear axle ratio or a 6-speed manual form with specific gear ratios. For those who enjoy track-quality performance, the manual form is superior since it comes with a dry-sump oiling system, rear battery, and differential cooler.

Just like past Corvettes, the Grand Sport is available in the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, and 4LT trim packages, along with all the standard exterior and interior colors options. It can also be purchased with the available option of special two-tone seats with "Grand Sport" embroidery. Also available is the heritage package (RPO: Z15) that adds a pair of hash mark stripes to the front fenders, available in 1 of 4 different colors.
